For tasks that require nuanced understanding — reading a lead’s situation and crafting the right response — Claude consistently outperforms GPT-4. It’s less likely to hallucinate and more likely to acknowledge uncertainty.

Claude’s 200K token context window is a massive advantage for processing long documents, email threads, or CRM histories within a single workflow call.

Anthropic is an AI safety company at its core. Claude is less likely to produce harmful outputs or go off-script in automated settings where you can’t monitor every output.

For business automation that requires writing, reasoning, and decision-making, Claude is our standard. For simple classification or data extraction tasks, either model works fine.
Running Your Own Model Comparison
Testing Both Models on Your Real Data
Benchmarks and blog posts, including this one, only go so far. Take twenty or thirty real examples from your business, such as lead forms, customer emails or call notes, run them through each model with the same instructions, and have the person who normally does the work grade the results blind. That tells you more than any leaderboard.
Comparing Cost per Workflow Run
Model pricing is charged per token, and rates differ between providers and between model tiers. Work out the cost of a typical workflow run, including input context and output length, then multiply by monthly volume. A cheaper, smaller model is often enough for simple classification, saving the larger model for writing and reasoning.
